Computer Network Working of Modem, Hub, Switch and Router

Modem

Modem is a communication device that send and receive data from one computer to another on the internet through telephone lines.sending receiving computer  dial up modem. Computer store information in the form of digital signal however the information transmitted over the telephone line in the form of analogue. dial up modem receive data from computer and digital form and convert it into analogue this process is called modulation analogue signal to another computer Using telephone lines. dial up modem on receiving computer receive data and analogue form. It convert the analogue data back into digital form. this process is called demodulation.

Hub

A Hub is also called concentrate our multistation access unit. it provide a central point for cable in a network. It also transmit signal and have multiple port to which device are connected.  hub connect the computer networks.Read broadcast messages to every computer on the network but only the intended recipient computer. take the message.the computer that are not the recipient of the message ignore the message. can handle only one way information traffic at a time.

Switch

network which is more intelligent than hub. improve the efficiency of data transfer in the network. did receive a message from any device connected to the network and then transmit the message only to that device for which the message was meant. it can also handle multiple channel at the same time.

Routers

router is a communication device connect multiple networks using different protocols. X-Men the best route between any two communication networks. used when travel networks are connected together. fruit that can be used on a network   of any size. it can connect networks of different countries. transfer data in less time. the router is an intelligent device. uses algorithm to find out the best path to transfer data to a network.
